Ordering bridal accessories to a date

Almost nobody chooses hair accessories first. The dress is settled, then altered, then the hair trial happens, and only at that point does anyone know whether the look wants a comb at the back, pins scattered through, or a headband across the crown. That is a sensible order of operations and it produces a predictable problem: the decision lands inside the delivery window.

Here is a timeline that works backwards from the date instead of forwards from the moment you start thinking about it.

Work back from the hair trial, not the wedding

The hair trial is the real deadline, because it is where you find out what the style needs. Anything bought before the trial is a guess, and anything bought after it has to travel.

Schedule the trial at least eight weeks out. That leaves room to order, receive, try the pieces in the actual style, and reorder in a different tone or quantity if the first choice does not sit right – which happens more often than people expect.

Bring accessories to the trial, even borrowed ones

A stylist working with nothing in hand will tell you what would work. A stylist with three actual pieces will tell you which one works, which is a much more useful answer.

If the pieces have not arrived yet, take anything of roughly the right scale – a plain comb, a headband you already own. The point is to see how the style holds weight and where the anchor points are, not to preview the final look.

The delivery window, stated plainly

Packing takes one to three business days and transit five to ten, so six to thirteen business days from order to arrival. In calendar terms that is up to about three weeks once weekends are counted, and it is deliberately a conservative estimate rather than an optimistic one.

If your date sits inside that window, the honest thing is to write to us before ordering rather than after. We will tell you whether it can be done, and if it cannot we would rather say so than take the order.

Order the spares with the originals

Small pins get lost between the trial and the day, reliably. Buying a second set at the same time costs a fraction of what a rush reorder costs in stress, and unused sets can go back within the return window if they are unopened.

This applies especially to multi-piece sets. A six-pin set that loses one pin is a five-pin set, and the arrangement the stylist worked out at the trial assumed six.

What to do when the date is too close

Buy in person if you can. The boutique holds stock and there is no transit involved, which removes the entire problem in one step.

Failing that, choose from what is in stock rather than what you had in mind, and choose simply. A plain pearl pin available now is a better outcome than a specific rhinestone comb that arrives after the wedding.

Leave the return window open

Returns run for thirty days from delivery on unused, complete pieces in their original packaging. That window is easy to lose by accident: pins that have been through a styling session cannot be resold and are not eligible.

If you are trialling several options with the intention of returning the ones you do not use, work over a cloth, keep the packaging, and put each piece back in its own pouch. It sounds fussy and it preserves the option.

From our shelves

The pins, combs and headbands most often ordered against a date. Everything below is in stock as this piece is published, and the prices shown are read live from the catalogue rather than typed into the article, so they cannot drift out of date. Across the whole group prices currently run from $9.99 to $21.59, and the listing pages carry the full specification for each one.

These are 5 of the items in Bridal Hair Accessories; the category page lists the rest with current stock and pricing.

Ordering, delivery and returns

A single $5.99 delivery fee applies, and it disappears at $49. Orders are packed in one to three business days and travel for five to ten, so plan on six to thirteen business days between placing an order and opening the box. Everything ships from New York, NY, to United States addresses.

If something is not right, the return window is 30 days from delivery for unused goods in their original packaging. The Shipping Policy and the Refund and Returns Policy carry the detail, and the FAQ answers the questions that come up most often.
